SummerFest: 10th–19th July

With festival season well and truly up on us, please join us at The Tyger Café in Archbishop’s Park from 10th to 19th July 2015 for a festivus of fun summer activities for everyone. There’ll be different activities every day aimed at entertaining adults, kids and dogs alike. So come on down for as much or as little as you want, it’s a great way to make new friends.

ACTIVITY TIMETABLE
Fri 10/7/15     16.00-19.00    Art in the Park:
Free Art Workshop with artisits Ed Mc Fadden and Mo Brathwaite. All ages welcome. All participants leave with their own unique, professional looking canvas created by them. Free entry. Donations welcome to cover canvas and acrylic paints used. Bring your own booze. Corkage £3.00 which includes opening and chilling wine plus park friendly glasses.

Sat 11/7/15    11.00-19.00    GRRREAT Kids Stuff:
Art, Craft, Face painting and more…Face painting and children’s art and craft workshops. All participants leave with their own unique work of art created by them. Free entry. Donations welcome to cover materials and acrylic paints used.

Sun 12/7/15   11.00-19.00    Bark in the Park:
Let the Dogs have their day! We’ll be kicking off our Bark in the Park Contest in earnest, so bring your pooch down to have his or her picture taken at the café and added to our hall of doggie fame. We’ll also need to know your pet’s hobbies too. Café visitors will then vote for their favourite Barker in the Park and the dog with the most votes wins a doggie prize. You can also take part in a canine quiz and there’ll be doggie based art workshops for kids too. We’ll have water and doggie treats available all day.

Mon 13/7/15   16.00-19.00   Crafts ‘n’ Cakes: POP-UP BAR OPENS UNTIL 19th JULY!
Needle crafts, jewellery and card making workshops. We’ll have a needle craft expert on hand to guide you through how to crochet and how to turn your needle craft into art. So go on, come down and have a go at crocheting, knitting, sewing and embroidery. No experience necessary. There’ll also be plenty of cakes on hand to keep everyone’s spirits up.

POP-UP BAR open from Monday 13th – Sunday 19th July serving: wine, beer, cider and jugs of Pimms.

Tue 14/7/15    16.00-19.00   Local Vocals:
Sing your heart out! Enjoy listening to or performing with local jazz and folk singers at the café. All welcome to join in.

Wed 15/7/15   16.00-19.00   Words, Words, Words:
Interactive poetry, drama and creative writing workshops and performances for all ages lead by MND. Find your inner thespian or inner writer.

Thu 16/7/15    16.00-19.00   Bats and Balls:
We’ll have two tennis coaches on hand to help with your forehand, backhand and anything….err.. handy. You’ll also be able to purchase table tennis bats and balls and some rounders kits to use with the park’s facilities. We’ll also be serving strawberries and cream of course!

Fri 17/7/15      16.00-19.00  BBQ, Pop up Bar, Music and More Art in the Park:
Join us for a barbecue, our pop up bar as well as music washed down with a New Art Exhibition showcasing two very different artists: Walki Freedreamer Tinkanesh and Allan Bell. There’ll also be an Art Workshop run by the Tyger Café. All ages welcome. All workshop participants leave with their own unique, professional looking canvas created by them. Free entry. Donations welcome to cover canvas and acrylic paints used.

Shhhhh….There’s also an exclusive, SECRET EVENT on Saturday evening which you’ll have to go to the Café to find out about if you want in….Our lips are sealed!

Get your stripes on for family fun all day…Tiger Face painting and children’s art and craft workshops. All participants leave with their own tiger-enthused unique work of art created by them. Free entry. Donations welcome to cover materials and acrylic paints used.
